The Challange
A long-standing customer in the chemical industry approached us seeking a versatile liquid filling solution capable of handling both drums and canisters on a pallet. Their primary requirements were that the system could fill both container types using a single machine while ensuring precise weight accuracy.
The Solution
After our initial meeting, we conducted a site visit to gain a thorough understanding of the existing filling process and the environment where the machine would be installed. We then evaluated the products being filled to assess safety requirements, analyze filling characteristics, and identify the daily operational needs of the staff. Based on this comprehensive analysis, we recommended a solution featuring our Elementra 16 Semi-Automatic Liquid Filler, equipped with multiple enhancements to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
To guarantee a safe working environment, the construction of this pail & drum filler is Stainless Steel was executed in our explosion proof design. Additionally, the arm of this liquid filler is equipped with a grounding clamp and features a software integration that halts filling if grounding status changes mid-fill or if the container is not grounded before filling. Additionally, this pallet-filling configuration features a 2-1-2 conveyance system, providing two staging positions on both the infeed and outfeed, along with an operator platform for improved workflow efficiency.
For filling canisters on a pallet, a weldment table was designed, allowing a pallet to be staged on top for easy filling without adjusting the height of the filling arm. To further assist with quick product changeovers, this liquid filling setup was supplied with a spare filling lance and storage rack, along with a lance cleaning station. These features collectively enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime, ensuring a smooth transition during product changeover.
