From Rendering to Reality – Engineered to Fit

The Challenge

A long‑standing customer reached out for a system to fill and palletize valve bags of diverse food‑additive powders. The solution needed to meet food‑grade standards, deliver reliable performance, and be engineered to fit within the customer’s constrained existing footprint.

The Solution

Following our initial meeting, we conducted a 3D Laser Scan at the customer site to understand the existing footprint down to an 1/8 of a millimeter. Next, we conducted a detailed analysis of the product being filled and it’s filling behavior with the customer’s bags in our testing area at our Conyers, GA facility. After carefully reviewing the drawings created from the 3D scan, we finalized a solution consisting of our INTEGRA IVL1 Enclosed Packer and AMICUS® PAL – STANDARD Robotic Palletizer Cell. Along with the proposal, we provided a VR rendering of the packaging line in action inside their existing facility, allowing the customer to view & walk around the proposed solution.

For the bagging portion of this project, the INTEGRA IVL1 is equipped with numerous features, including a filling spout with an inflatable sleeve to minimize dust during filling, LED indicator lighting to keep operators informed of machine status, and a data connection that allows seamless communication with the customer’s ERP system. To ensure a proper seal on every bag, dedusting components are integrated around the sealing unit along with our QUAT2RO SEAL CHECK system, leveraging AI-powered image analysis to detect defective sealings and notify the downstream reject station. Additionally, a quick‑change filling‑spout adaptor is included to make product changeovers fast and simple.

Next, for the palletizing portion, this robotic palletizing cell comes with our AMICUS® PAL robotic arm, powered by FANUC, which features our Gripper End-of-Arm-Tool. Additionally, the Gripper EOAT is equipped to handle Pallet and Slip-Sheet pickup inside the robotic cell. The robotic cell also includes a reject station, bag flattener, and designated pickup areas for pallets and slip-sheets, all integrated into a compact yet highly efficient layout. This tailored solution proved to be the perfect fit for managing palletizing operations, balancing footprint and performance.

This all-in-one packaging solution delivers compact, dependable, and safe handling of food & chemical products—fully aligned with the industry’s highest standards.
